    Remember that it is best to perform all calculations involving percent with the decimal form of the percent.

    Remember also that the percent form can easily have decimal places. Whether it does or not, to change to decimal form, move the decimal 2 places to the left.

    In the past, tuberculosis has been called consumption. Obviously, that is not the meaning we are intending in this section. Our use of the word consumption is based on the words "consuming" and "consumer".
